Company Number: 17177433
VAT Registration Number: 518962850
These Terms and Conditions apply to all purchases made from Jarvis Honey Limited, including purchases made through our website, directly from us, or through any authorised outlet.
By placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
General Terms
Jarvis Honey is committed to providing high-quality honey, bees, and professional beekeeping services. As a small, family-run business, we take great care in preparing and supplying our products while maintaining high standards of bee welfare and customer service.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where necessary, including where products are unavailable, incorrect pricing has occurred, or we believe the order cannot be fulfilled safely or responsibly.
Any decisions regarding replacements, refunds, or service arrangements will be made fairly and reasonably by Jarvis Honey.
Queen Bee Orders
Queen bees are living creatures and require careful handling, preparation, and transport.
Queen orders are dispatched using Royal Mail Special Delivery (Next Day) where available. While we aim to dispatch orders promptly and ensure safe delivery, Jarvis Honey cannot accept responsibility for delays caused by postal carriers, adverse weather, or circumstances outside of our control.
If a queen arrives deceased on arrival (DOA), you must notify us immediately upon receipt.
To allow us to assess a claim:
- The queen must remain in her original cage.
- Clear photographic evidence must be provided.
- The issue must be reported as soon as possible after delivery.
Following verification, Jarvis Honey may offer a replacement queen free of charge or issue a refund excluding postage costs, at our discretion.
Northern Ireland
Due to current shipping restrictions and the requirements associated with the movement of live bees, Jarvis Honey is unable to ship queen bees to Northern Ireland.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding that these restrictions are in place to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and to protect bee health.
Nucleus Colony (Nuc) Orders
Nucleus colonies (nucs) are living bee colonies and are prepared seasonally according to availability.
At present, all nuc orders are collection only. Once your purchase has been completed, you will receive a What3Words location providing collection details.
For biosecurity reasons, collections will take place from a designated public car park near one of our facilities rather than directly from our apiary locations.
This process allows us to maintain strict biosecurity measures, reduce the risk of disease transmission between apiaries, and help protect the health and wellbeing of our colonies.
Collection dates and times will be arranged in advance. Customers must follow all collection instructions provided by Jarvis Honey to ensure the safe handling and transport of their bees.
Once the nucleus colony has been collected and is in your possession, responsibility for its transportation and safe handling transfers to the customer.
Customers are responsible for ensuring the colony is transported securely, safely, and in accordance with any relevant legal requirements. Suitable transport equipment must be used to minimise the risk of bees escaping during transit.
Jarvis Honey cannot accept responsibility for bees escaping, loss of bees, damage caused during transportation, or any consequences arising after the colony has been collected and removed from our care.
Due to the seasonal nature of live bee sales, availability and collection arrangements may be affected by weather conditions, colony development, and bee welfare considerations.
Jarvis Honey reserves the right to adjust collection dates where necessary to ensure the health and welfare of the bees.
Honey Products
Jarvis Honey produces and supplies natural honey which may vary in colour, flavour, texture, and consistency depending on seasonal nectar sources.
Our 100% Natural Honey is not suitable for children under 12 months of age, pregnant women, or individuals with compromised immune systems.
Natural honey will crystallise over time. This is a normal process and a natural indication of pure, high-quality honey. Crystallisation does not mean the honey has spoiled and does not affect the quality of the product.
Once opened, honey should be stored correctly and consumed within a reasonable timeframe. Consumption of honey that has been improperly stored or spoiled is at the customer's own risk.
Honey orders can be shipped throughout the UK.
Delivery
We aim to process and dispatch orders as quickly as possible. Delivery times provided are estimates only and may vary due to circumstances outside of our control.
Jarvis Honey cannot be held responsible for delays caused by postal services, courier companies, extreme weather, or other events beyond our reasonable control.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery information when placing an order.
Delivery Failure and Missed Deliveries
Jarvis Honey has noticed that during the current season, there has been an increase in courier and postal services marking items as unable to be delivered for a variety of reasons.
Royal Mail or other delivery providers may be unable to complete delivery where:
- A signature is required and nobody is available to accept the item.
- The item cannot safely fit through the letterbox or designated delivery location.
- There is insufficient postage or an issue with the delivery label.
- The delivery provider is unable to leave the item with a neighbour or in a safe place due to the nature of the product or their delivery procedures.
In these circumstances, the delivery provider may leave a notification card or update the tracking information with instructions on how to rearrange delivery or collect the item.
Please note that delivery providers determine their own delivery status updates and reasons for failed delivery attempts. Should a delivery be marked as a delivery failure, delivery attempted, or similar status, but you were available to receive the item, Jarvis Honey cannot and will not be held responsible for this decision or for any resulting delays caused by the courier or postal provider.
Customers are responsible for monitoring delivery updates, responding to delivery notifications, and ensuring arrangements are made promptly where delivery has not been completed.
Jarvis Honey cannot accept responsibility for delays, loss, deterioration, or any consequences resulting from missed deliveries, failed delivery attempts, incorrect delivery information, customer unavailability, or delays caused by the postal or courier provider.
For live bee products, including queen bees, customers should ensure they are available to receive deliveries where required, as delays following attempted delivery may affect the health and welfare of the bees.
Cancellations, Refunds and Returns
Due to the seasonal and perishable nature of bees and certain products, cancellation terms may vary depending on the item purchased.
Cancelled orders may be subject to an administration or restocking fee of 20%.
For queen bee and nucleus colony orders, cancellations may be subject to a 50% fee due to preparation time, availability, and seasonal planning requirements.
Refunds will only be considered where products are eligible and where the circumstances meet these Terms and Conditions.
Any approved refunds will be processed using the original payment method.
Product Availability
Bee-related products are subject to seasonal availability and colony conditions.
While we aim to fulfil all confirmed orders, Jarvis Honey reserves the right to make changes to availability, collection dates, or arrangements where necessary to protect bee welfare or maintain quality standards.
Third-Party Purchases
If you purchase Jarvis Honey products through a third-party retailer or authorised seller, any concerns, returns, or complaints must be addressed directly with the original seller.
