Premium Native AMM (Black Bee) Open-Mated Queen Bees

Our Native AMM open-mated queen bees represent the very best of UK black bee breeding. Produced in collaboration with like-minded UK breeders, these queens are carefully selected to preserve and strengthen genetically pure AMM lines.

AMM queens are valued for their:

  • Calm and manageable temperament

  • Strong, consistent laying patterns

  • Excellent resilience, particularly through spring and winter

  • Low swarming tendency and reduced feeding requirements

A recent hive inspection in mid-April demonstrated the exceptional productivity of our AMM stock, with one colony requiring eight National supers, all filled with oilseed rape honey. The queen from this colony has since been retired to our breeding apiary as one of our selected AMM breeder queens.

🔬 Genetic testing (September 2025) confirms the breeder queen used in our current grafting programme is 84.4% AMM.
