Our Untested Artificially Bred Buckfast Breeder Queens (F0) are produced in May each year in very limited numbers as part of our carefully managed breeding programme.

Produced using instrumental insemination, these queens represent the original (F0) breeding generation and are an excellent choice for beekeepers looking to produce high-quality F1 queens from carefully selected Buckfast genetics. They offer outstanding value for money for those wishing to establish or develop their own breeding programme.

Unlike breeder queens that may have already been introduced to colonies before sale, we believe in being completely transparent about how our queens are supplied. These F0 queens are instrumentally inseminated, receive two CO₂ treatments, are individually marked, and are dispatched before being introduced onto comb. This allows you to know exactly what you are purchasing and to manage the queen from the earliest stage in your own colony.

As they are dispatched shortly after instrumental insemination and have not been established in a colony, no guarantee can be given regarding their acceptance, laying performance, or long-term reliability. Because of the specialist nature of producing instrumentally inseminated breeder queens and the limited number available each year, early reservation is strongly recommended.
